Watercress Developments Inc.
Who we are

Watercress History

I incorporated the company in 1990 with the interest to build “Custom Homes” in a manner which would be unique, high quality and emphasize the experience of the process, as well as the end result. Through previous experience in the industry, I realized two significant points to achieving the goals I wanted. The first was that everyone has a nature by which they work. To attain high quality, I had to find individuals already inclined to this, so our further work together need only focus on fine tuning and details. The second was that the best work is created in an atmosphere of harmony. I have found the elements lending to this are appreciation, respect and order or organization.

Our company reflects these principles and perspectives. We have sought to incorporate these into all aspects of our operation. I believe you will feel a passion from all those within the company. We find a true satisfaction and pride in the work we perform and continually raising the bar on our performance.

Company Philosophy

At Watercress Developments, we know what people want when building a new custom home. We know, because we ask, listen to and involve every Client in the process. Be it a new custom home or renovation to an existing home, we bring over 25 years of experience to the project and focus our attention on each Client to fully meet their needs.

By having our own highly professional team of trades and craftsmen, who share an impeccable eye for detail, we are able to create homes of exceptional quality. Our ability to respond to very exacting standards has become our trademark and we pride ourselves on the feedback received from satisfied Clients.

A combination of diligence, knowledge and experience are key factors to our success. Another, is our use of a collaborative approach in all aspects of our work, which encourages individuals to input their valuable knowledge and perspective into the decision making process. Just as a conductor leads an orchestra, we are mindful of our role to work with the talents and skills of each player to draw out the contribution they can make.

An example of this can be seen when a Client is in need of a design. For this we have incorporated a “Roundtable” approach in which the Client, Design Team (including the Architect, Designer etc), Watercress management and other professionals focus on developing and refining the concept and details of the design.

The result of bringing talented and creative professionals to the table at appropriate times in the early design is that sound and imaginative ideas can be developed during the “paper” stage, which may otherwise be too complex or costly to incorporate once construction has commenced. The flexibility of our system means we are able to bring a team “consultation” to a design which may already be in progress, or completed, on the request of a Client, an Architect or Design Professional.

This dynamic and proactive approach assists in creating a foundation of knowledge and understanding from which informed decisions can be made, within the ease and luxury of time. This reduces the potential of stress from pressured decisions.

Our approach harmonizes functionality, environmental awareness and aesthetics to create a home that is as in tune with its surroundings as the people who will dwell within it.
